Bluestriped Angelfish
Bluestriped Angelfish (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis) is a native species of marine fish in Taiwan. Because of its bright body colors and changeable stripes, it has higher ornamental value in the market and is very popular with ornamental fish owners. This species is mainly distributed in the coral reef waters of Taiwan's main islands, Penghu, Green Island, Hong Kong, and southern Japan. In the past, it was mainly obtained by wild fishing; however, due to the large-scale fishing and the damage to its natural habitat, the wild population has decreased. In recent years, the awareness of wildlife conservation has been rising, and the industry and the government are committed to studying breeding techniques; currently we are able to provide artificially-bred fish and the output is gradually stable, which is possible to stabilize the supply and demand issues of the market in the future.
