Green Laser Cory originated from Peru of South America, has drastically different commodity names, due to different collected locations and body colors; this has generated a lot of controversy. However, all dorsal lateral of each type has striking golden-yellow strips, which create a strong visual contrast with their olive-green body color; thus, they are deeply loved by Corydoras lovers. Green Laser Cory has not been officially named yet; its CW-number is CW009. It is temporarily classified in Corydoras aeneus group, and its true identity remains to be revealed by scientists. In the past, Green Laser Cory totally relied on input from the wild, and its debut made a sensation in aquarium field, which made its price soar. In recent years, with the stable supply of its artificial reproduction, Green Laser Cory’s visibility has increased in the market and its price has become much cheaper. In addition, because the condition of individuals from artificial reproduction is quite stable, it greatly reduces the difficulty of raising Green Laser Cory. This species is about 4-6 cm long, suitable for water temperature 22-30°C, pH 6.0-7.5. For individuals inputted from the wild, changes in water quality and parasitic infections need to be careful. In comparison with wild Green Laser Cory, artificial-reproduced ones are stronger, but the water quality (in preference for clean and soft water with weak acid or neutral pH value) still need to be careful; it is a good choice from Corydoras at entry or middle level.
